Senator Cynthia Villar on Monday praised President Duterte's assurance against the reclamation plans in the Manila Bay. Villar, chair of the Senate Committee on Environment and Natural Resources, said the Duterte reiteration of his opposition on the reclamation of Manila Bay "indicates how the government remains true to its commitment to rehabilitate and protect the bay." Echoing Duterte, Villar said the reclamation of Manila Bay will worsen flooding in nearby areas and will destroy the source of fish supply of Metro Manila and parts of Cavite and Central Luzon.
