AboitizLand launches project for pawikan
Excerpt
AboitizLand Inc., the real estate arm of the Aboitiz Group, has initiated its Pawikan Conservation Project with the Aboitiz Foundation and environmental science experts from the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman. The project establishes a five-year management plan to preserve sea turtle nesting sites located at Seafront Residences, the company’s first residential project outside the Visayas. Located in Barangay Calubcub II in San Juan, Batangas, the beach community is a 43-hectare, 800-unit development with its shoreline tagged by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) as prime nesting grounds for the endangered Olive Ridley sea turtle, or pawikan.
