The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) reported that shellfishes from Negros are still safe for consumption according to its latest bulletin. This, after samples of shellfishes collected from different areas of the province tested negative for toxic red tide contamination. Based on the bureau's latest shellfish bulletin released last November 21, the coastal waters of Biliran Island are now positive for red tide toxin.
