    Excerpt
The Department of Agriculture (DA) is upgrading its data management as part of its efforts to digitize the country’s agriculture sector, its chief said on Monday. To do this, Agriculture Secretary William Dar said in a statement that the DA will start improving its management information system (MIS), which contains the digital registry of farmers and fisherfolk across the country, and list of previous and current projects of the agency. “It also features a real-time monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system, and optimizes the use of a geolocation app for a more efficient project implementation and monitoring that will benefit more farmers, fisherfolk and stakeholders,” Dar said.
