    BFAR raises red tide alert in four Vismin provinces

    The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) has declared four areas in the Visayas and Mindanao as positive for paralytic shellfish. Based on the latest laboratory results jointly conducted by BFAR with concerned local government units (LGUs), shellfishes collected at the coastal waters of Dauis and Tagbilaran in Bohol; Balite Bay in Mati City, Davao Oriental; Lianga Bay in Surigao del Sur; and Ormoc Bay in Ormoc City in Leyte are positive for paralytic shellfish beyond regulatory limits.
