The Land Bank of the Philippines (Landbank) recently signed a memorandum of agreement with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) for the promotion of mariculture parks in the country. This tie up its congruent with Landbank's thrust to expand support to the fisheries sector and increase credit outreach to small fisherfolk beneficiaries particularly those in the mariculture industry. BFAR's mariculture park program started in 2001 with the launch of the first mariculture park in Samal Island, Davao del Norte.en
