Cleanups alone cannot solve the problem on marine debris; we need to stop it at the source, stressed Engr. Noel Hechanova, the city environment and natural resources officer (CENRO). Hechanova said public awareness regarding the sorry state of the environment should be heightened. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) yesterday spearheaded a coastal cleanup here.
