    Excerpt
An estimate one million cubic meters of wastewater is dumped in the Iloilo River daily, environment officials said this week. Noel Z. Hechanova, Iloilo City environment and natural resources office (CENRO) chief, said 200 drainage pipes from 13 hotels, seven hospitals and numerous houses and commercial buildings along the riverbanks spew untreated wastewater into the river. Mt. Hechanova said the volume of untreated wastewater threatens the life of the river.
