    Excerpt
The fisheries sector in Western Visayas is not affected by the El Niño phenomenon, said Director Drusila Bayate of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources 6 (BFAR-6). But despite this, BFAR-6 has been preparing mitigating measures by identifying vulnerable fishing areas likely to be affected once the dry spell worsens.
