The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday said that Singapore is not taking sides in the territorial disputes in the West Philippine Sea (South China Sea) but is merely pursuing a peaceful resolution of the decades-old territorial row that has simmered in recent months. Raul Hernandez, Foreign Affairs spokesman, said that Singapore, which enjoys a booming economy, shares with Philippines the desire of ensuring a peaceful and stable region. "Singapore supports the same principled position of the Philippines in pursuing a resolution of disputes through peaceful means in accordance with international law," he said.en
