A United States Navy destroyer rescued two Filipino fishermen whose fishing boat encountered engine trouble in disputed areas in the West Philippine Sea on Tuesday, it was reported yesterday. The Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS Mustin was on "routine patrol" when it spotted the fishing boat, with the two fishermen on board frantically waiving for help, the US Navy's 7th fleet said in a statement. The 7th Fleet said the USS Mustin contacted nearby fishing vessels to inform them to the rescue of the two fishermen and then deployed a hull inflatable boat to tow the fishing vessel.en
