President Duterte yesterday assured the United States that the Philippines would neither negotiate nor trade its territorial rights with China. Connecticut Senator Christopher Murphy, in his Twitter account (@ChrisMurphyCT), said the President told his delegation that the recent ruling of the Permanent Court of Arbitration that favored the country over its territorial dispute with China is "non-negotiable." Murphy, after a courtesy call on Duterte in Malacañang, tweeted that "new Philippines President Duterte. Assured us he has no plans to negotiate with China over island dispute."
