Fisherfolks in Brgy. Punta Cogon here are complaining about the rampant illegal gathering of sea cucumber, locally known as "balat," since it destroys the coal reefs. Some 200 fisherfolks complained that divers from other places come to their village and gather sea cucumbers. City Agricultural Officer Salvador Borda said he already alerted the Bantay Dagat in the area to closely watch the illegal activity.
