    The snail-shaped Taklong Island National Marine Reserve (TINMAR) is composed of Taklong, the Tandog group of islands and surrounding islets covering an area of about 1,143.43 hectares in Nueva Valencia, Guimaras. TINMAR envisioned as a cradle of marine science research in Western Visayas. The project site's primary purpose is to protect and preserve the geological, scenic, scientific and educational features of the areas including the marine resources therein.
