    Excerpt
To supposedly protect the mangroves in Pulupandan, Negros Occidental, the provincial government has expressed opposition to the building of the Guimaras-Negros bridge from Pulupandan to Guimaras. It suggested that the bridge be constructed instead in the adjacent town of Valladolid. Not a few, however, doubt this "mangrove reasoning" of the capitol.
