Loren Legarda's Senate Bill No. (SBN) 242 mandates the proposed departments to recommend measures for the enhancement of the fisheries industries and formulate a comprehensive fishery research and development program. The new fisheries department will also develop new and novel fishery products for domestic consumption and export in order to use marine resources sustainability, the bill said.en
