    Excerpt
Agriculture output grew by 0.67 percent in the first quarter of the year due to positive contributions from fisheries, livestock and poultry subsectors. This, is however, slower than the 1.47 percent growth registered in the same quarter in 2018 as output was pulled down by the crops subsector due to the El Nino phenomenon. The fisheries subsector inched up by 0.97 percent during the period and contributed 13.45 percent to the total agricultural output.
