Data from harvest of tilapia cultured in freshwater ponds, pens and net cages showed a return on investment (ROI) of 49% with a payback period of two years. The system was done in a natural or man-made water impoundment. The Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC-AQD) tested it in cooperation with the people's organization and the local government unit (LGU) of Bingawan, Iloilo.
