    The once booming shrimp industry is down, but not yet out. And a recent research breakthrough achieved by aquaculture scientists may yet help resuscitate this once thriving venture that turned in huge profits for entrepreneurs subsequently suffered financial woes because of the industry's near collapse. The scientific headway was achieved by the government-hosted Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC-AQD) at its brackishwater station in Dumangs, Iloilo.
