The Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (Seafdec), which has one of its Aquaculture Departments (AQD) here, announced that it has a new member country. Panu Tavarutmaneegul, Secretary-General of Seafdec, revealed that Indonesia is the newest member-country of the organization. Indonesia's membership commence when the Government of Indonesia deposited the Instrument of Accession with the Government of Thailand, who is the Depository Government of the Agreement establishing the center, effective, August 8th, 2000.
