    Excerpt
The kapiz industry, once a thriving activity in western Iloilo's coastal towns, is now being revived. The effort is being spearheaded by the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC AQD) and local government units of Tigbauan, Oton, Guimbal, and Miag-ao. Several coastal waters from the towns of Oton (west of Iloilo City to Guimbal (farther west) were seeded late last year with kapiz breeders provided by the government-hosted Tigbauan-based SEAFDE AQD headed by Dr. Rolando Platon.
