    Excerpt
Usec Drilon of the Department of Agriculture appealed to the Ilonggos particularly Tigbauan, Onton, and Guimbal fisherfolks to protect the Kapis shell (locally known lampirong) along Panay Gulf. This was addressed during a dialogue with the fisherfolks last July 7 regarding protection of breeding sites of Kapis shells in Tigbauan. Barangay Namucon in Tigbauan is one of the four breeding sites of Kapis shells in the first district of Iloilo - a project of SEAFDEC-AQD (Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department) in collaboration with the local government units (LGUs)
