Dr. Rolando Platon, the newly reappointed chief of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center-Aquaculture Department (Seafdec-AQD) in Tigbauan, Iloilo, has begun to mend fences with the local community as well as withthe scientists who wanted him out. Platon said they are now exerting efforts to talk with the residents Brgy. Buyuan where the center is located to appease those with whop a top Seafdec offical figured in a shouting match. Before the problem arose, local residents were hired to do Seafdec's laundry.
