    This species is endemic to Palawan, and could be found in Abungan River, Taytay to the Babuyan River in Puerto Princesa, Palawan province. The population of Cyclocheilichtyes schoppeae is being threatened by the continuous dumping of pesticides into the lake; siltation due to slash and burn farming; and introduction of exotics such as Tilapia.
