Land Bank of the Philippines said the amount of loans it provided to small farmers, fishers and other priority sectors grew by 20 percent to P721 billion in the first quarter of the year, from P600 billion a year ago. The state-run bank said the amount represents 93 percent of its total loans to all sectors of P778.8 billion. Loans for agriculture and fisheries rose by 19 percent to P172 billion from P144 billion, while agribusiness loans jumped 29 percent to P114 billion from P88.5 billion a year ago.
