Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol has approved a P39-million credit support under the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) Production Loan Easy Access (PLEA) program to farmers and fisherfolk of Aklan. “Instead of subsidies, we will go for easy access credit. For every year, the government spends P10 billion for seeds distribution but it turns out to be non-sustainable,” Piñol said, adding that the long procurement process derails the timely delivery of the projects.
