    Excerpt
An integrated fisheries management is being mulled in preserving and protecting the Visayan Sea. Iloilo Provincial Agriculturist Ildefonso Toledo said the plan was conceived during the Visayan Sea meeting on Feb 19, 2018, at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol. Together with concerned government agencies and stakeholders, Toledo said they are now finalizing the ecosystem approach for the said plan. “It would round from resource management, law enforcement and a lot of components. It might cover alternative livelihood because the intensified campaign against illegal fishing may result in the displacement of fisherfolks. We need to be ready to provide them with alternatives,” he said. “Visayan Sea is suffering from depletion so it needs a CPR (conservation, protection, and restoration),” he added.
