Fishing boat captain apologizes to Duterte
Excerpt
The captain of the fishing boat that figured in an incident at midnight of June 10 with a Chinese vessel in Recto Bank, apologized to President Duterte on Wednesday. In a press conference at the municipal hall, Capt. Junel Insigne of the F/B Gem-Ver apologized and clarified that it was not the President who invited them to Malacañang but Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol. Insigne said contrary to his previous statements that they were rammed by the Chinese vessel at midnight of June 10, he only wished the President to make the captain of the Chinese vessel accountable. “Humihiling po ako sa ating mahal na Presidente na sana po yung bumangga po sa amin na, gusto ko po mapanagot po ‘yung kapitan po, ‘yun lang po ang hinihiling ko.” (I am only asking our beloved President to make the captain of the vessel that rammed us accountable.)
