    The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) has banned shellfish gathering in eight bodies of water where red tide toxins exceed beyond the regulatory limit. BFAR Director Asis G. Perez said in a conference here that two of the affected areas in Mindanao, particularly in Murcielagos Bay in Zamboanga del Norte/ Misamis Occidental and Dumanquilas Bay in Zamboanga del Sur. In its bulletin last week, BFAR said all types of shellfish and acetes SP or alamang from the eight affected areas are not fit for human consumption.
