Chinese harassment of PH Navy troops an isolated case

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana on Thursday said harassment by a Chinese aircraft of Philippine military forces aboard a rubber boat off Ayungin (Second Thomas) Shoal to resupply Marine troops based there was only an “isolated” case. The Defense chief made the statement over reports that Beijing had menaced Philippine Navy personnel off the disputed Ayungin Shoal, where the grounded BRP Sierra Madre is stationed. Rep. Gary Alejano of Magdalo party-list had made the revelation during a hearing on ongoing developments in the contested West Philippine Sea (South China Sea).
