Tourists is safe when this famed island destination reopens come Oct. 26, according to Metro Boracay Police Task Force (MBPTF) head Senior Superintendent Jesus Cambay Jr. Cambay said tourists – domestic and foreign – must not worry about their security in what is now the “new Boracay.” The island resort has accommodated over 2 million tourists last year and early this year before President Rodrigo Duterte ordered it closed for its six-month rehabilitation beginning April 26.
