Villar wants waste water, sewage system probed
Excerpt
Having been tagged by an environmental lawyer as a “toilet bowl being used every day but never got flushed,” Senator Cynthia Villar wants a Senate probe on the wastewater treatment and sewerage system in Manila Bay and another body of waters in Metro Manila. “We still have a long way to go in reviving Manila Bay back to its pristine condition,” said Villar. Despite efforts to clean Manila Bay, she noted that water quality in the bay continued to worsen because of poor solid waste management and the lack of facilities for proper wastewater disposal.
