    Excerpt
The Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center's aquaculture department (SEAFDEC/AQD) is aggressively pursuing a collaboration effort with the Iloilo first district's Panay Gulf Development Program (PGDP) to revive the long-gone window pane oyster industry in Iloilo. Iloilo used to be one of the 27 natural kapis beds in the Philippines where access is open to gatherers including women and children. Fisherfolks from Oton to Miagao claim they used to abound in the 60's till the 80's when fishers gathered them by hand.
