Keynoting the opening ceremonies of the international seminar-workshop on aquaculture development in Southeast Asia (ADSEA'99), Drilon said that aquaculture in the Philippines can significantly contribute to the food security and poverty alleviation programs of the Estrada government. The Ilonggo exec stressed that while aquaculture research get published in scientific publications, research results should be commercialized and transferred for use by various stakeholders of the aquaculture industry.en
