The recently-concluded ADSEA 99 (Aquaculture Development in SEA) spawned a food security mission between Seafdec AQD and BFAR. Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Chief Dr. Rolando Platon and Dir. Malcolm Sarmiento of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region VI discussed the possibility of joining financial and manpower resources to conduct nationwide extension of aquaculture technologies developed by the former.
