Department of Agriculture (DA) undersecretary Cesar M. Drilon Jr. encouraged intensified efforts in promoting sustainable and environment-friendly aquaculture technology in the countryside. Keynoting the opening ceremonies of the international seminar-workshop on aquaculture development in Southeast Asia (ADSE '99), Drilon said aquaculture in the Philippines can significantly contribute to the food security and poverty alleviation programs of the Estrada government.
