Dr. Jurgenne H. Primavera. senior scientist of the Iloilo-based Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center's aquaculture department (Seafdec-AQD), is the new president of the Philippine Association of Marine Science (PAMS). She was elected in the recently held 5th National Symposium on Marine Science at the University of the Philippines Marine Science Institute (UP-MSI) in Diliman, Quezon City. Primavera is internationally known in the scientific community for her work on shrimp culture and ecology and integrated mangrove aquaculture.
