    A tilapia production project is now being implemented in the San Julian dam in Tapaz, Capiz, for the benefit of local residents, particularly rebel-returnees. The project is a collaborative undertaking of the Tapaz municipal government headed by Mayor Romualdo Exmundo, concurrent chairman of the Central Panay EconomicUnification, Inc.; the Tigbauan, Iloilo-based, government-hosted Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC AQD) headed by Dr. Rolando Platon; and the Department of Agriculture-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (DA-BFAR).
