Tigbauan fishers witnessed the seeding of kapiz (also known as lampirong) breeders along Tigbauan coastal waters. The activity was led by Tigbauan mayor Myrna Torres and Dan Baliao, head of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (Seafdec)-Technology Verification and Extension Services (TVES). Kapis industry used to be a lucrative business in the 80s when it was still plentiful in the coastal waters of Tigbauan.
