    In a keynote address in the recently held international seminar-workshop on aquaculture development in Southeast Asia (ADSEA '99) Drilon said that aquaculture in the Philippines can significantly contribute of food security. ADSEA '99, held last Oct 12-14, has theme "Responsible Aquaculture Development in Southeast Asia." It aims to asess the progress and development of aquaculture technologies in Southeast Asia region and the research and development activities of the aquaculture department of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC).
