Manila Bay rehab begins: 3 restaurants ordered closed

Thousands of volunteers descended on Manila Bay on Sunday, the start of a massive rehabilitation scheme that aims to restore the bay’s “beauty and bounty.” As the clean-up unfolded, the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) ordered the closure of three restaurants in Manila for polluting the bay. Several Cabinet members joined volunteers and government workers collect trash on the first leg of a rehabilitation program seen to last years.
