    Excerpt
Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Roy. A Cimatu together with Regional Executive Director (RED) Francisco E. Milla Jr. of Region 6 conducted an on-site inspection on the ongoing Malandog River rehabilitation and management project in Hamtic, Antique. “We are happy to note that the ongoing rehabilitation of the Malandog River is on track. We hope to revive the fishing industry here so that people will sustain their livelihood. In addressing water pollution of the river, we are aiming for these Antiqueños to have a sustainable life,” said Secretary Cimatu. Malandog River is historically important to every Antiqueños as this was where the first Malayan settlers were believed to have landed.
