    The head of a farm and fishery group recently pointed out the benefits to farmers and fisherfolk from mining projects specially large one like Tampakan in SouthCotabato. Roy Moreni, chair of the Koronadal City Agri-Fishery Council said consistency in national and regional laws will enable mining projects laws will enable mining projects to be growth drivers in a community as shown in the open pit mining done in Toledo City, Cebu. "The farmers in Toledo City are recieving subsidies for seedlings and fertilizers from the mining company and that can happen here in South Cotabato," Moreni said.
