The Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (Seafdec) successfully spawned wild caught white shrimp or putian (Penaeus indicus). Now, shrimp farmers in the Philippines can have another alternative species to culture in their farms. The success was made last November 10 at the Technology Verification Section of the Seafdec Aquaculture Department headed by Dan D. Baliao.
