    Excerpt
Dan Baliao, Program Director of Seafdec-BFAR (Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources) Joint Mission for Accelerated Nationwide Techno-Transfer Program (JMANTTP) could not hide his excitement for the record-breaking result of the recent shrimp harvest in Botong, Batangas. On December 3, one of the four sites of the Joint Mission, Botong, Batangas' second verification run yielded 2,450.4 kilograms in one pond having an area of 2,000 square meters and 2,963.2 kg in another pond having an area of 1,890 sq.m. Scaling up, it means an average yield of 14 tons per hectare could be attained after 129 days of culture.
