The country's milkfish industry, saddled over the years by an acute fry shortage problem, can now look forward to much better times. This optimistic outlook stems from the initial headway achieved by a project being supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). The project, called "Milkfish Broodstock Development and Fry Production in Ponds and Tanks," is being undertaken under the DOST-UNDP Gainex Program.
