Viruses has been the long-time scourage of the aquaculture industry. The presence or absence of these viruses often spells the difference between profit and loss. The White Spot Syndrome Virus (WVSSV) for shrimp, the Viral Nervous Necrosis (VNN) and Iridovirus for fishes are some of the bane of the industry. The good news is that, the Diagnostic Services of the Fish Health Section of the Aquaculture Department (AQD) of the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC), is now accepting shrimp larvae, juveniles and adults samples for WVSSV detection.en
