Southern Mindanao continues to strengthen its position to be an aquaculture center with the recent inauguration rites of Dynamic Team Aqua Ventures in Malapatan, a first-class coastal municipality in Sarangani Province. Based in Gen. Santos City, the farm is part of a big local fishing conglomerate and regarded dubbed as among the most updated shrimp farms in Region 12 because of its use of modern technology especially in waste treatment. Located near Sarangani Bay, one of the country’s richest fishing grounds, the shrimp farm is envisioned to be the “shrimp capital” of Soccsksargen Region which will supply the requirements of the adjoining cities and provinces.
