The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in Region 12 has allocated around P5.7 million for the development of two community fish landing centers (CFLCs) in two coastal communities in the region. Omar Sabal, BFAR-12 information officer, said Thursday the two CFLCs, each costing P2.85 million, were among the major projects that were approved for funding and implementation in the region this year under its flagship Targeted Actions to Reduce Poverty and Generate Economic Transformation in the Fishery Sector or Target program. He said the development of the CFLCs is under the fourth phase of the Target program, which mainly aims to uplift the socio-economic status of the country’s poor fisherfolk.
