local.seafdecaqd.extractBased on the latest laboratory results of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and Local Government Unit (LGU's), shellfishes collected at Batile Bay in Mati, Davao Oriental, coastal waters of Dauis in Bohol, coastal waters in Milagros in Masbate, Cambatutay Bay in Western Samar and Cariga Bay in Leyte are still positive for paralytic shellfish poison that is beyond the regulatory limit. Moreover, coastal waters of Pilar in Capiz are now positive for red tide toxin. All types of shellfish and Acetes sp. or alamang gathered from the area shown above are NOT SAFE for human consumption. Fish, squids, shrimps and crabs are safe for human consumption provided that they are fresh and washed thoroughly, and internal organs such as gills and intestines are remove before cooking.en
